The Essence: Mighty or Meek

With the seasons in a transitioning period again, from cold to warm and before you know it onto hot, it seemed a good time to throw some poetry about. Mull over the words and move with them. See how long it takes you to figure out what the topic is (it’s at the end, if you can’t figure it out). Then think about how you feel about the topic. Maybe you’ll want to write something up yourselves. Feel free to share here or on Facebook!

The Essence: Mighty or Meek

Wisps wafting against the skin

Filling soul and mind

Blowing strands to life

Icy fingers creep down necks

Invading, penetrating force

Cresting the barrier of protection

Warmth – heaven brushing the canvas

But furnace heat – relentless

Heating inward to disturb the soul

Howling its call, whooshing, rushing

Unspeakable movement molding trees into art

Fear drenching, torrential tempest – unyielding

Scarcely a break...then

Silence coating the air

Barely a rivulet

Peaceful leaves

Rest for its origin

For a time–

Come to me, wind – insistent escape

Loosening the grip of stress, adorning our world

Yes, come, with might and with meekness; the world turns.
