Vanquished Smiles

One day I happened to look across the room I was sitting in and saw a box that had been delivered a short while earlier. It was an Amazon box, which means the smiling arrow was on the end I could see. I am not sure if it is meant to be a smile or just a “going out” logo, but I always see it as a smile – going out. Anyway, their orange tape happened to be strapped across the smile as if someone was trying to cover up or stop the smile. That made me think about how sometimes we have a smile on our face and our heart and someone says or does something that wipes it away. Sometimes we are just fragile enough to let things get to us and we drop. Sadness (and anger) can be contagious. BUT! Joy is also contagious!
I like that there is no way for the Amazon smile to be taken away. It’s a permanent logo that we see everywhere. If only our hearts could remain smiling all the time and the coinciding smiles never stripped from us. Be the blessing that someone else might need today and do your best to keep a smile lighting up your face and heart and sparking a twinkle in your eyes. Let the smile shine and “go out” to the world around us.
